Wrapping up in style

Manx Litfest 2024 ended yesterday evening with two superb events at the Noa Bakehouse.

At 5pm Amina Atiq gave a moving performance of ‘The Third House’, in which she combined poetry and film with stories about her life, and her Yemeni-Scouse heritage. There were laughter and tears all round…oh, and an impromptu rendition of the Manx national anthem!

Sukh Ojla closed the evening - and the festival - with her event at 8pm. Sukh chatted with Rakie Bennett about her new novel, ‘Sunny,’ and her careers in acting and stand-up. Her anecdotes were so funny and uplifting: the perfect note on which to end a wonderful week.
