Martin Edwards
In the words of none other than Ann Cleeves: “Martin knows more about crime fiction than anyone else working in the field today.”
Martin is the winner of the CWA Diamond Dagger 2020—the biggest honour in UK crime writing—as well as being one of the longest-serving Chairs of the Crime Writers’ Association and President of the Detection Club, in which role his predecessors include G K Chesterton, Dorothy L Sayers and Agatha Christie. He was born in Knutsford, Cheshire and educated at Balliol College, Oxford, and is a practising lawyer as well as a writer. His many books include Gallows Court (2018), Mortmain Hall
(2020) and The Life of Crime: Detecting the History of Mysteries and their Creators (2022).
